2010 Forest City Chamber of Commerce Accomplishments

Ambassadors

• Welcomed 9 new businesses and new business owners
• Business After Hours
• Member Appreciation Visits

Marketing

• "Shop Local, Why Go Anywhere Else" campaign in print and radio ads
• Partnerships with High School Organizations including FFA, Sports Boosters, Post Prom, and other civic/social groups
• 7th Grade Civics program in the Middle School

Promotions

• Retail promotions including Quilter's Block Party, Summer SWING Concerts, and Jump Start Friday
• Puckerbrush Days Celebration enhancements, as well as continue to increase attendance at attractions and events.
• Improved events in 2010 that will be done again in 2011 such as Frontier Day and Forest City Christmas

Tourism

• Contributing to and distributing 2010 Visitor's Guides for tourism requests
• Updated "Welcome to Forest City" visitor's brochure
• Received $1,000 grant from Our Iowa magazine to landscape by bridge in Pammel Park
• Coordinated 3 bus tours for groups coming to Forest City
• 2010 CITR/IGTA Bank Club Market Place tradeshow
